No Mames! Chicken & Smash was started by Chef Abel Castañeda, a cook who spent many years learning in different restaurants and working hard in the film-industry catering world. After serving countless meals on sets and gaining experience from talented chefs around him, Abel decided to take a chance on his own small food truck.

The idea was simple: make honest, from-scratch food with bold flavors, using good ingredients and the same care he’s always put into his cooking. Today, No Mames! Chicken & Smash is known for its scratch-made smashburgers, crispy chicken sandwiches, and house sauces — all cooked with the kind of pride that comes from starting from the bottom and building something for the community.

What started as a dream has become a local favorite at the ABQ Food Park, thanks to the people of Albuquerque who continue to show love and support. No Mames! is here because of them, and every plate is cooked with gratitude.
